Google Maps and Street View

Today we used google maps/street view to find images and locations that would fit our game ideas.

My asset pack decided to set our game in a post-apocalyptic world, most of the cities are destroyed and much of the population is killed, leaving all the previously heavily populated areas abandoned and small towns the only habitable places left.

I’m looking for remote locations with small towns such as this one in Norway.

The buildings I am hoping to use will be more similar to those used in Antarctica. Efficient buildings with a basic design.

We also need abandoned cities such as those near Chernobyl and Hashima Island.

This would be one of the more heavily impacted areas.

I found google maps and street view to be very useful in finding images and locations for my game idea because you don’t need to now what you’re looking for, you can just go to an area and look around until you find something of interest. It also has an extremely large variation of images so you’re almost guaranteed to find what you’re looking for.
